Sound healing work is about balancing the many functions of our organism through the use of vibration. Our mental and emotional states are deeply affected by music and sound.
When vibration therapies are used on or near our bodies, many beneficial processes are set in motion, affecting us down to the cellular level.
The Garden Gate Day Spa seeks to enliven all five of our senses, including our hearing. We use music to enhance relaxation; we signal the beginning and end of treatments with the chime of a singing bowl; and we incorporate sound healing techniques into our treatment offerings. One of these is Acutonics, which employs specially calibrated tuning forks to facilitate harmonic balance in all our systems. This can be done by applying the forks on or near specific areas on the body, such as acupuncture/acupressure points, trigger points, or energy centers (chakras). The subtle vibrations from the tuning forks resonate deeply through all the tissue layers, even down to the bone. A sound healing session can be very gentle, as when we work with the frail elderly in our assisted living center, or it can be combined with other types of treatment. Acutonics provides a non-invasive boost to our immune system, while deepening the impact of all the bodywork modalities we use. When we listen to the musical interval created by sounding two tuning forks with different frequencies, we access the vestibular system in our ear, which affects our sense of motion, balance, and our position in space. Frequencies used near the head stimulate our cranial nerves, strengthening neuro pathways and increasing our body’s production of endorphins.
As a general rule, Acutonics can be incorporated into any of our treatments, but most especially our signature treatments. Our staff would be happy to suggest some ways you may want to explore vibration healing at the Garden Gate Day Spa.
